Paul Manchester MRCVS - Senior Vet
Paul is our Senior Vet based at our Ashton surgery
I grew up in South Wales, wanting to become a vet from my early teens, weekends and holidays were often spent working on a dairy and sheep farm. I qualified as a veterinary surgeon (MRCVS) from the University of Edinburgh in 1985 becoming a Batchelor of Veterinary Medicine and Science.
After 2 years working in North Wales, I decided to work exclusively with Small animals and started my work at Gourleys began in 1987. I predominantly consult at our Ashton surgery. Work and a young family keep me busy; any free time is spent walking, cycling or climbing.
Diego Navarro MRCVS
I gained my degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1998 at the University of Zaragoza in Spain. I have worked at various practices in the UK since 2001.
I joined the team here in November 2005. I enjoy both small animal medicine and surgery. I predominantly consult at our Newton Heath branch.
Jacintha Manchester MRCVS
I graduated in 1989 from the University of Ghent, Belgium, having always wanted to be a vet.
I started working at the practice soon after and stayed for two years before moving on to work for various neighbouring practices. I returned to work part time for Gourleys in 2000.
As a vet I am particularly interested in feline medicine, heart disease and chickens but like all other species as well.
Jacintha is married to Paul Manchester and they have two sons and various pets. Personal interests include gardening, walking, reading and drawing.
Marta Lopez Garcia MRCVS
I graduated in June 2010 at the University of Zaragoza in Spain. I came to the UK in October 2010. I previously worked at a small animal practice’s in Lincolnshire and Peterborough.
In February 2013 I joined the team at Gourleys. I have an interest in ophthalmology, surgery and ultrasonography. In my free time I enjoy walking my dog and enjoying the UK countryside and travelling. I predominantly consult at our Hyde branch.
Luisa Martinez MRCVS
I joined the practice in August 2014 after spending 6 months completing a cardiology externship at the University of Bristol.
I gained my veterinary degree at the University of Zaragoza in Spain in 2010 and have a special interest in Imaging and Cardiology.
I predominantly consult at our clinic in Stalybridge.

Ana Ramirez Perez covers each of our clinics where the usual consulting vet is on leave.
Josep Duato Botam MRCVS
I have always had a passion for animals, medicine and science. In 2013, I graduated with Honors at the University of Zaragoza, Spain. Meanwhile, I participated in various research projects in Cornell and Cambridge University during the summer. I also completed a 7 months internship at the Small Animal Hospital University of Ghent. I successfully completed the first year of my PhD in Oxford University.
After my various experiences I realised my passion lies in practicing veterinary medicine, being directly in touch with animals and their owners. I joined the Gourley Team in May '15. I thoroughly enjoy my work surrounded by a superb team of Vets and Nurses. I have a special interest in Veterinary Internal Medicine.
As a welcome present I got a lovely three-legged cat from the practice that I take care of.
I predominantly consult at our Denton clinic.
Cesar Llanos MRCVS
After graduating from University of Leon in 2013, I travelled to Auckland, New Zealand to work as veterinary assistant in a small animal practice. At the same time I was volunteering I also spent some time in a referral hospital at the Emergency and critical care department. I then moved to the UK to start the new graduate programme with CVS, rotating among different practices through Greater Manchester. After 7 months I became a part of the Gourley team. I really enjoy working in a busy environment. I am particularly interested in Surgery, Anaesthesia and Emergency and critical care.
I spend a lot of my free time with my partner who is also a vet, we both love travelling and meeting new people. I also enjoy nature and cooking.
I consult at all of our clinics.
